Aston Villa lost 4-1 to a Columbus Crew side who were much fitter and sharper. The MLS side are halfway through their season, so the intensity difference was expected.
There were positives to take – the showings of Enzo Barrenechea, Amadou Onana and Jaden Philogene showed what they can add to Villa this season.
But there were a few areas, mostly in defence, where it looks like Villa still need to improve.
